Our mission is to help restore the biodiversity and carbon-capturing potential of rainforests.
Since June 2020, we’ve committed to planting two trees for every pair of sneakers we sell. Our work starts in the Brazilian rainforest, where only 12.4% of the forest floor remains following widespread urbanization and agricultural logging. With the goal of restoring biological diversity in this essential biome, we plant over 120 tree species, based on what’s native to each site.

- Outsole: Green EVA made from sugarcane

Very attractive shoe
I got the green low knit after buying the hi top. The high tops are almost like slipper, they are so comfortable. The shoes look just like canvas but are soft. I have a little problem with the right low sneaker. My bunion hits the white rim around the shoe wrong. It feels like a ridge, which is not there on the high top. I will need to add a little padding in there because I want to keep the shoes but don’t want a blister. It may be a small manufacturing defect.

Bamboo is harvested from the stalk and rapidly regenerates, leaving tree & soil intact.

Sugarcane Outsole

Our durable outsoles are made with Green EVA from sugarcane and a negative carbon emissions balance.

Vegan Insole

Our signature memory foam insole is made with cork & mamona oil.

Recycled Plastics

Nurturing the planet is a cause that’s very dear to us at Cariuma. That’s why we decided to start our own Reforestation Program in our founders’ homeland, Brazil, where the rainforests are home to an increasing number of endangered plants & animals. For every pair of sustainable sneakers purchased, we plant a pair of trees in the Brazilian rainforest to directly aid in the restoration and preservation of these natural habitats.
