Our mission is to help restore the biodiversity and carbon-capturing potential of rainforests.
Since June 2020, we’ve committed to planting two trees for every pair of sneakers we sell. Our work starts in the Brazilian rainforest, where only 12.4% of the forest floor remains following widespread urbanization and agricultural logging. With the goal of restoring biological diversity in this essential biome, we plant over 120 tree species, based on what’s native to each site.
- Upper & Lining: Perfect-fit Bamboo Knit (bamboo and recycled PET)
- Insole: Removable lightweight memory foam + cork + Mamona oil (& a secret message)
- Outsole: Green EVA made from sugarcane

Love these shoes!
This is my second pair of this style. The other pair are the light pink. So comfortable and perfect for travel and UK summers and Florida winters. Bonus is that they are washable. I highly recommend.

Slips Off
These shoes are probably better for people with regular or wide feet. Because I have narrow feet, the shoes were too loose and slipped off the back.

Bamboo is harvested from the stalk and rapidly regenerates, leaving tree & soil intact.

Sugarcane Outsole

Our durable outsoles are made with Green EVA from sugarcane and a negative carbon emissions balance.

Vegan Insole

Our signature memory foam insole is made with cork & mamona oil.

Recycled Plastics

IBI Slip-On’s lining, threads and our logo labels are made from recycled plastic bottles.

Nurturing the planet is a cause that’s very dear to us at Cariuma. That’s why we decided to start our own Reforestation Program in our founders’ homeland, Brazil, where the rainforests are home to an increasing number of endangered plants & animals. For every pair of sustainable sneakers purchased, we plant a pair of trees in the Brazilian rainforest to directly aid in the restoration and preservation of these natural habitats.
